Our Staff

Elizabeth has worked in the medical field for over 20 years, and she has worked with Dr Candler at Skin Alert for over 10 years. She has a keen interest in cosmetic nursing, including injectables and laser.

As our senior nurse she assists Dr Candler with most of his skin cancer surgeries, and she also performs many of our laser treatments, including the IncontiLase service. Elizabeth also helps many of our patients achieve natural-looking anti-ageing results with cosmetic injectables (anti-wrinkle and dermal filler), laser facial rejuvenation treatments and PRP. Elizabeth regularly participates in ongoing education, attending national and international skin cancer and cosmetic medicine conferences.

In her spare time, Elizabeth- a Far North Queensland local, spends time with her family, and can often be found in a Crossfit exercise class.

Melinda has been in the health and beauty industry for 22 years. She has continued to complement her extensive knowledge and experience in the anti-aging and medical industry with ongoing education.

Melinda is highly qualified in her field, currently undertaking her final year of a Bachelor of Nursing degree, in addition to holding a Diploma of Beauty Therapy, a Diploma of Paramedical Aesthetic and a Diploma of Cosmetic Tattooing.

Melinda, who is originally from Sydney, is fascinated with skin health and the rejuvenation process, as well as slowing down and reversing the ageing process. When Melinda is not working she likes to play with her dogs on the beach, read books, and wine & dine with her partner.

Britney is the youngest member of the Skin Alert team, but by no means the least experienced! Throughout her secondary education Britney studied a certificate IV in Assistant Nursing, gaining employment as an Assistant Nurse immediately after graduating from high school.

Britney then continued to add to her qualifications by completing a Diploma of Nursing, becoming an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse. She is currently furthering her education studying a Bachelor of Nursing degree. Britney has a strong interest in cosmetic nursing but also enjoys taking care of patients. She enjoys nursing in a clinic setting, and will continue to study endeavors such as injectables and other cosmetic nursing procedures in the future.

On her days away from work and studying, Britney, a Cairns local, enjoys spending time with her friends and family, and relaxing at the beach.

Alana, who is from the Central Coast in NSW, has worked in the industry for over 6 years and has a special interest in skin conditions, particularly in the treatment of acne and acne scarring. Alana possesses a Diploma in Beauty Therapy and is trained in a variety of Dermal Therapy treatments such as Intense Pulse Light (IPL), Collagen Induction Therapy (skin needling), and Dermal Planing to name a few.

Alana has also completed her Laser Safety Certificate and will continue to attend training workshops and conferences to be sure she is up to date with the latest and most advanced cosmetic products and treatments. She is passionate in helping her clients achieve positive results and overcome any issues they have regarding their skin.

Away from work Alana likes to travel, watch movies, host dinner parties and play with her two young German Shepherds.

Gemma has been in the industry for 8 years. After leaving school she worked towards gaining her NVQ level 2 and 3 in Beauty Therapy, and has worked in many different aspects of the beauty industry.

After relocating to Australia from the UK 4 years ago she completed her IPL and Laser Safety course and has mainly been focusing on results driven skin care and giving people the results they desire. Previously having her own skin issue she has been in your shoes. She is also experienced in all Intense Pulse Light treatments including hair removal, pigmentation removal and vein removal.

In her spare time Gemma likes to walk her dog, cook new dishes, travel and relax.
