Nail fungus is a persistent infection that resides underneath the nail bed. This is why novel creams often don’t work- they can’t penetrate through a thick nail. Laser, however, is pulsed through the nail and is able to reach the depths of the nail bed. Here the laser heats up the tissue to to kill off the fungus.

To maximise results you can still apply your cream over the top of the nail, but it is the heating effects of the laser that are most effective.
